Privacy Policy

Inscribed in sand — January 2025

Dune Serpent crosses ancient dunes and leaves no trace behind — and that philosophy extends to our approach to data. We do not collect personal information of any kind. What happens in your session stays entirely within your own device.

How The Game Runs

Dune Serpent is a browser-only application. The serpent physics, the sand dune parallax, every obelisk you vault and every scarab you collect — all of it is computed inside your browser's own JavaScript runtime. Nothing from your session is transmitted to any server we operate. We receive no telemetry, no crash reports, no player counts, and no gameplay metrics.

The High-Score Inscription

To remember your finest run between sessions, Dune Serpent saves your personal best to your browser's local storage — a native browser feature that keeps data on your own device under this page's domain. We have no way to read, modify, or erase this value remotely. To clear it, visit your browser's privacy or developer settings and clear site data for this page.

No Watchers In The Dunes

Dune Serpent contains no analytics scripts, advertising trackers, behavioural profiling systems, session recorders, or cookies of any kind. We are not affiliated with any advertising network. We do not sell, license, or share any data about you — because we have none.

Google Fonts

The Cinzel and Mulish typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, a public content delivery service. This causes your browser to send a standard HTTP request to Google's font CDN. Google may log metadata from that request — including your IP address — in accordance with their own privacy policy. This is the only external request the game makes. We receive nothing from this exchange and have no control over Google's data handling practices.

Players of All Ages

Dune Serpent contains no age-restricted content and collects no personal data from any user. Children can play freely without any risk of their information being captured through this game.

Changes to This Policy

Should our practices ever change, this page will be updated with a new date and a clear description of what changed. We have no current plans to introduce data collection of any kind, and any such change would be communicated explicitly before it took effect.
